33 foxes were killed on Phillip Island last year and of these 21 were baited.
Foxes are a huge threat to the remaining fragile ‘Little Penguin’ colony. A hungry fox will go on a killing spree once they find a penguin for dinner, killing up to 20 penuins at a time.
The success of last years baits has ensured there usage on the island for the future.

Alicia: 21 baited foxes… Is it significant? How many foxes are there in Phillip Island? And won’t it increase the number of rabbits? They seem much to be more numerous there…
