My name is Sam. For the most of my time I work in IT and live with my family, but sometimes I walk around my city and take some pictures.
I live in Melbourne's eastern suburbs since 2005 and can say that I really like this city.

That’s just funny! I didn’t get that far north of Melbourne, but I do remember seeing a sign in the city for Batman Avenue and had a great laugh over that…
Shelley, you deserve a special honour for the very first comment on this blog.
Yes, the batcow is funny and there are more like this in Shepparton, e.g. cow-mermaid, cow-Shrek.
But Melbourne’s Batman is a different story. The person of this name (John Batman) was one of the city’s founders and is famous for the sentence written in the travel diary: “This will be the place for a village”! He wrote it in 1835 and was damn right.
Ahh…well, I was wondering why Batman was more important than say, Spiderman or Superman, to get a street named after him. However, it’s good to know the real meaning behind the name!
